Accounts Payable Analyst –B141

Patheon is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst. Working directly for the Shared Services Supervisor the incumbent will be responsible for processing of supplier invoices into SAP and related approval and payment, ensuring compliance with Accounting policies and Company terms and conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and efficient processing of supplier invoices and related payment
  • Create new Customer Master records as needed
  • Assist Procurement with resolution of problems
  • Prepare payment batches and related back-up
  • Handle exceptions by liaising with supplier or procurement for solution (payment approval, goods receipt, etc)
  • Process tax documents as required
  • Prepare 1099 forms for IRS submission
  • Back-up for Accounts Receivable as needed
  • Assists Business units with necessary documentation for client bill-back invoicing
  • Account Reconciliations
  • Perform duties within Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Finance
  • 1 to 3 years of previous related experience
  • Recent and progressive SAP Experience
  • Microsoft Office expert with heavy emphasis on Excel

Business Development Manager-B2138

Patheon is seeking an additional Business Development Manager for the Boston Territory. The scope of this role is to drive sales growth for Patheon’s Pharmaceutical Development Services (PDS) and Commercial manufacturing services specifically targeting pre-clinical business. Reporting directly to the Business Development Director, the candidate will be responsible for developing the client and revenue base in the territory by calling on target companies and selling Patheon’s  Pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities and pharmaceutical development services, which include analytical development, formulation development and clinical manufacturing. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactive identification of opportunities with new clients through interaction with Business Intelligence and research
  • Provide regular contact with existing clients to identify new business opportunities for Patheon within a portfolio of molecules in development and products in market
  • Timely internal communication is required to enable evaluation and generation of PDS and Commercial proposals by the Quotations groups
  • Ability to understand and present quotations to the client and answer any questions that may arise
  • Management of the client database (Salesforce.com) for the East coast territory to ensure accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 5 years pharmaceutical or related industry experience, ideally involving drug development and/or manufacturing process
  • Dynamic and self-motivated individual with superior interpersonal and communication skills

Corporate Compliance Audit Manager – B130

Patheon is seeking a Corporate Compliance Audit Manager who will oversee the corporate vendor management program. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Global Quality the incumbent will be responsible for a wide variety of vendor audits to ensure r ongoing compliance internal requirements and government regulations.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage corporate vendor management program
  • Perform internal corporate audits to ensure compliance to GMP’s or quality standards as well as performing vendor audits
  • Write and/or revise corporate standards
  • Prepare trend reports and monitoring corrective action, while being committed to the deadline of the reports
  • Providing preparatory assistance prior to key client or regulatory inspections
  • Will travel 50% or more of the time to act as a liaison with foreign vendors in multiple countries
  • Assessment and understanding of site / vendor procedures and practices
  • Work with affiliate site resources to execute to plan
  • Work within the existing technology framework
  • Understanding and interpreting procedures and practices in a foreign language

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Microbiology, or Biology
  • 7 years of Quality Assurance experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • 3 years previous supervisory experience
  • Good Manufacturing Practices and United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) compliance knowledge

Corporate Paralegal-B138

Patheon is seeking a Corporate Paralegal who  will work closely with the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel on a wide variety of corporate matters including corporate governance, securities, and subsidiary management, as well as executive compensation, equity plans including filings of Forms 3 and 4 and Section 16 compliance.  The incumbent of this position will be responsible for assisting with corporate governance function which will include: board of directors, committee and annual stockholder meetings, forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, proxy statements and D&O questionnaires, managing certain aspects of compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley procedures and maintaining minute books. Working under attorney supervision, be able to review, negotiate, revise, and analyze standard agreements, including among others, confidentiality agreements, service agreements and consulting agreements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and organizing materials,  maintaining stock and option records, updating corporate files and records, preparing forms for filing with federal and state agencies to comply with corporate and securities laws and data entry
  • Assist in ongoing securities laws compliance, including the preparation and filing of annual and quarterly SEC disclosure documents, overseeing Section 16 filings and program maintenance
  • Coordinate support for the board of directors and its subcommittees, which includes preparing and distributing board materials, and drafting resolutions, consents and similar materials
  • Assist with monitoring, updates and education relating to corporate governance policies
  • Maintain the corporate minute books and related records for the company's domestic subsidiaries
  • Extracting designated information from corporate records and documents 
  • Assembling financial data from records on file at Security Exchange Commission and state securities regulatory agencies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification and 6 years relevant work experience or associates degree, paralegal certification and 8 years relevant working experience
  • Must be able to work with a high degree of autonomy, but good collaboration with administrative colleagues and executives will be key to success, as is willingness to pitch-in on projects outside of normal responsibilities
  • Must possess good judgment, meticulous attention to detail and an ability to exercise complete discretion regarding client matters.

Director, Global Quality Compliance-B140

Patheon is seeking a Director of Global Quality Compliance to work from the RTP Headquarters, as well as travel to Patheon’s North American and European sites. The incumbent of this position will be responsible for providing Quality and Compliance consultation while reporting to the Vice President of Global Quality Compliance. This position will also provide support to Global Patheon affiliate sites as well as ensuring processes and procedures are in place to manage compliance risk.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Regulatory activity, interpret and disseminate Global Good Manufacturing Practices requirements and identify Quality and Compliance risks to the business
  • Make recommendations for Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CAPA) and / or actively participate in Risk Mitigation
  • Monitor and identify trends from Regulatory and Client audits and ensure that risks are effectively communicated and acted upon globally
  • Oversee and monitor the implementation of the compliance program
  • Report on a regular basis to the governing body and leadership on the progress of implementation, and assisting these components in establishing methods to improve efficiency and quality of services, and to reduce the vulnerability
  • Periodically revise the program in light of changes in the needs of the organization, and in the law and policies and procedures of government

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in chemistry, biology, pharmacy or other related field
  • Minimum 10 years Compliance or Quality Assurance experience

HQ Accountant-B139
Patheon is seeking an Accountant for accounting support for Patheon headquarters activities and departments. This position will provide support with HQ departments budget, forecasting, accounting, allocation of costs, intercompany billing and reconciliation. The incumbent will perform the monthly close process including preparation of monthly reports and analysis. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide Finance and Accounting support for Executive departments such as executive level positions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ability to balance multiple priorities with tight deadlines
• Ability to handle ad hoc requests that need immediate attention
• Ensure consistent reporting across the group in an environment where there are a variety of local systems and interpretations
• Make recommendations as to how to improve efficiency in reporting and recommend courses of action to drive that improvement. Systems Close – SAP / Cognos
• Preparation of monthly consolidation and management reporting, including budget/forecasts
• Account reconciliations and other post close activities.
• Special projects including other finance support as required

Requirements:

The Market Intelligence & Portfolio Strategy team is responsible for the corporate and market intelligence function (including primary market research) as well as portfolio strategy, market assessments, and strategic opportunity evaluations for Patheon worldwide.  The Senior Analyst will report directly to the Vice President, Market Intelligence & Portfolio Strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze pharmaceutical market intelligence for use in conducting market assessments and strategic opportunity evaluations.
  • Leverage relevant pharmaceutical data resources to analyze product/market trends and dynamics for use in assessing the current and future market landscape.
  • Leverage pharmaceutical pipeline databases to assist in portfolio strategy and market assessments.
  • Conduct competitive analysis of companies in the contract development and manufacturing industry.
  • Work with other members of the Market Intelligence & Portfolio Strategy team in conducting evaluations of potential new business and partnering opportunities, from a marketplace perspective.

Senior Manager of Sales Operations-B136

Patheon is seeking a Senior Manager of Sales Operations whose role consists of being a key business advisor supporting the Sales Leadership for the company globally. The incumbent of this position will work closely with members of the sales team to drive business objectives that are critical to Patheon. The individual will have or develop a thorough understanding of the business and markets to play a lead role in the development of sales forecasts, sales bookings and pipeline management, monitoring/analyzing sales programs. They will lead efforts, partnering with other functional team members, to improve business processes and drive revenue growth for Patheon.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and design sales compensation plans, manage commission plan performance; tracking fairness and effectiveness. Develop and implement process for quota setting, and communicating sales quotas and objectives that are aligned to budgets. Maintain and revise sales territory structure for several sales forces.
  • Build forecasts, publish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the sales functions, analyze customer engagement and sales activity trends, implement easy-to-understand dashboards, and determine proper measures to track productivity gains. Respond to adhoc requests for data, information and reports.
  • Generate, check and deliver monthly or quarterly executive reports regarding sales effectiveness and results. Assist the sales leadership team with creation, review and completion of executive presentations for QBRs and other executive meetings.
  • Lead some or all aspects of projects that impact the productivity and efficiency of the sales organization. Be a thought leader and strategic thinker – always looking for ways to improve the business processes and reporting data to provide valuable insight into the productivity of the sales organization. Relentlessly seek out root cause problems and address them so that business processes are made more robust.
  • Design and develop training plan for the sales force. Manage external training consultants to deliver specialized training. Coordinate the creation of training content with internal experts.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the business and market to provide sufficient support to the sales organization. Proficiency in the use of the technology and tools leveraged by the sales organization to manage the business.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree required. (e.g., business, marketing, mathematics, statistics, etc.) Advance degree preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in an operational or financial role with extensive experience in designing and implementing sales management and sales operations tools, systems, and processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented personality that is focused on priorities and results as well as superior analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with background in developing and summarizing complex information for multiple executive audiences.
  • Solid conceptual thinking capabilities and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive experience with software tools including, but not limited to CRM systems, statistical software, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and relational databases.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with a high degree of effectiveness with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detailed understanding of financial forecasting and modeling headcount/resource capacities for multi-geography sales locations.

Tax Manager-B137

Patheon is seeking a Tax Manager who will assist in all aspects of federal and state tax compliance, including but not limited to income tax, excise and franchise tax, fiduciary reporting and accounting for income taxes. The incumbent will be accountable for various tax matters and engaging with operating businesses and group functional teams to ensure that US, Canadian and Puerto Rico’s tax matters are efficiently and effectively handled and that the group’s tax strategy and risk management framework are consistently applied.  This position is responsible for driving process improvement initiatives and delivering value added ideas, as well as assisting with special tax projects or special tasks as directed by management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and review of all North American federal, state and local income tax filings for consolidated and separately filed entities to include:
  • US & Canadian Federal Income Tax Return
  • Provincial, State and Local Income Tax Return preparation, including estimated tax payments and accruals
  • Franchise tax filings
  • Other miscellaneous returns
  • Supervision and review North American tax provision under ASC 740. 
  • Responsible for SOX compliance and ensuring proper account reconciliations are completed.
  • Supervision and review of Management Allocations and other transfer pricing procedures.
  • Responsible for the coordination of federal, state and local tax audits.  Manages examination and information requests, communicates issues to management.  Negotiates resolution of issues with applicable tax authority.
  • Assists with the development of corporate tax policies and procedures.  This includes, but is not limited to, intercompany, transfer pricing, vendor (1099), SAP, etc.  
  • Assists with the development, implementation and planning of projects with the purpose of minimizing the global effective tax rate for the company.  Serves as key point of contact for relationships with outside public accounting and tax advisors, domestic and foreign. 
  • Supervise two direct reports

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of US and Canadian tax laws
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing tax laws, primarily in North America and Europe
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement disclosure requirements, particularly as it relates to accounting for income taxes
  • Ability to research technical issues and apply to real life situations
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Oracle/SAP, Excel and Word and fixed asset accounting software
  • B.S./ B.A. Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 6 or more years progressive work experience in a corporate environment, with concentration in federal and state income tax return preparation
  • Experience in multi-state income tax return preparation, tax provision and return preparation software
  • On-line research experience preferred.
