Patheon’s Toronto Region Operations (TRO), located in Canada, is a global leader in the manufacture of highly potent compounds. With physical zoning areas, material airlocks and upgraded single pass air handling systems the TRO site is well equipped to handle your high-potency manufacturing needs.

Patheon uses a combination of exposure control solutions to produce quality high-potency products while ensuring the safety of our highly trained workforce.  We utilize closed process trains, isolators, glove boxes, enclosures and innovative flexible containment technologies to achieve effective source containment. Our highly trained scientists and technical staff follow strict procedures to ensure the safe handling of potentially hazardous materials, and we rigorously manage personnel and material flow to ensure effective zoning is maintained. Patheon also conducts intensive industrial hygiene monitoring to verify the effectiveness of our containment systems. As an additional measure, Patheon employs on-site medical teams who manage an industry-leading medical surveillance program to monitor the health status of our employees.  

Patheon’s Swindon, UK facility also offers the manufacture of conventional high-potency dosage forms with the additional capability to manufacture highly potent sterile products in a number of formats including ampoules, vials, eye drops and sterile nasal sprays.
