At our Swindon, U.K. site, Patheon has entered into a long-term agreement, including shared capital investment, with Janssen-Cilag, an affiliate of Johnson & Johnson, to build a new facility dedicated to manufacturing a promising new lyophilized cephalosporin product. This innovative agreement provides our customer with state-of-the-art capacity and recognized expertise with which to launch a new molecule, while providing Patheon with a new specialized capability and a long-term contract to manufacture the product when it is approved for commercialization.
Patheon is participating in two major customer initiatives for restructuring their manufacturing networks in Europe. These complex carve-outs involve the transfer of a sizeable number of established Rx products from our customers’ facilities to our own, and demonstrate our ability to successfully accommodate a large number and range of product types into our network.
