Associate Toxicologist (8 month Contract with Potential for Full-Time)
|
|
|
Duties:
- Provide support to Manager, Toxicology Services as needed
- Develop toxicity classification documents and cytotoxicity assessments
- Develop Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) documents
- Work with the business group, project managers, site management and site Environmental Health & Safety departments on the toxicity evaluation for active pharmaceutical ingredients
- Track all toxicity categorizations and related information in spreadsheets and databases
- Evaluate whether active pharmaceutical ingredients meet GMP regulations
- Provide support for toxicology related questions as required
- Ensure timely completion of all toxicity requests
Qualifications:
- BSc degree in toxicology or pharmacology (recent graduates are encouraged to apply)
- Ability to determine the toxicity categorization of pharmaceutical active compounds based on clinical and other toxicological information skills
- Ability to determine an appropriate Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) for active pharmaceutical ingredients
- Hands-on experience accessing information from electronic databases
- Experience in summarizing complex technical information
- Excellent computer skills – Word, Excel, Access
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Well organized with attention to detail
- Experience in assessing human risk of pharmaceutical active compounds
- Understanding of occupational hygiene practices
